The Crestwood House is a seasonal podcast that I co-host with my best buds Paxton Holley and Michael May all about classic horror movies from the 1900s-1970s. We started the show in the fall of 2021 and have been recording episodes for four years now.
We released this episode back in October of 2022 as the season 2 closer, and the culmination of a 9-movie daisy chain. Night of the Living Dead is probably the film that I would say draws a line of delineation between classic and modern horror, though there are films that follow it that fit more in the former than the latter. Image Ten productions set out to make a fun commercial movie and they both failed and succeeded beyond any measure they could imagine as the film was wildly popular and raked in a ton of money while also mistakenly entering the public domain immediately. The distributor was crooked and Romero and crew never saw even half the profits the film generated over the years.
If you like what you hear you can subscribe to the Crestwood House on the Cult Film Club feed on iTunes. Also, please consider leaving a review for the show, positive or negative, we’d love to hear what you think and it helps to get the show into the hands of new listeners. Thanks in advance!
