The Cult Film Club is a podcast that I co-host with my best friends Paxton Holley and Jaime Hood (also my lovely wife) all about the movies that we love to death. We started the show in the winter of 2012 and have been recording episodes for over a decade now.
We recorded this episode back in July of 2013. This is not a very popular film; it tanked at the box office when it was sold in the advertising as a Ben Stiller comedy when he was really starting to hit it big. But the beauty of this flick is the way it was written for and lovingly wraps itself around the offbeat Bill Pullman who turns in an amazing performance as the very odd, yet brilliant Darryl Zero. The romance is heartbreaking, the mystery is engaging and full of red herrings, and the tone is such a weird balance of dark and funny.
If you like what you hear you can subscribe to the Cult Film Club on iTunes. Also, please consider leaving a review for the show, positive or negative, we’d love to hear what you think and it helps to get the show into the hands of new listeners. Thanks in advance!
